TikTok Analytics: The Metrics That Truly Matter for Growth

Dive into your TikTok analytics to understand what's working, what's not, and how to make data-driven decisions.

How to Access Your Analytics

First, you need a Creator or Business account. If you have a personal account, you can switch for free in your settings. Once you have a Creator account, you can find your analytics under 'Creator Tools' in your settings menu.

Key Metrics to Track

1. **Video Views:** This is a basic vanity metric, but a sudden spike can indicate you've hit on a topic or format that resonates.

2. **Follower Growth:** Track your net follower growth over time. Are certain types of videos bringing in more followers than others?

3. **Average Watch Time:** This is one of the most important metrics. A high average watch time tells the algorithm that your content is engaging, and it will push it to more people. Aim to beat the 3-second mark and analyze where viewers are dropping off.

4. **'For You' Page Traffic Source:** In a video's individual analytics, check what percentage of views came from the 'For You' page. A high percentage (over 50%) is a strong indicator that the algorithm is picking up and distributing your video.

5. **Audience Demographics & Active Times:** Under the 'Followers' tab, you can see where your audience is from and when they are most active. Use this data to post when your followers are most likely to be online to get that initial engagement boost.
